Abstrakt

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest identyfikacja czynników determinujących popyt na ubezpieczenia indeksowe w rolnictwie. Z przeprowadzonych badań literaturowych dotyczących produktów indeksowych dla rolników w krajach rozwijających się i w Polsce wynika, że nie tylko czynniki cenowe (poziom składki i dopłaty do niej, dostęp do kredytu), ale także pozacenowe (ograniczenia w zakresie płynności, zaufanie do instytucji i do produktu ubezpieczeniowego oraz historia odszkodowawcza) mają kluczowe znaczenie dla decyzji o kupnie. Ustalenia te są istotne nie tylko dla zwiększenia skali stosowania ubezpieczeń indeksowych w krajach rozwijających się, ale także dla rynku europejskiego, gdzie w ramach Wspólnej Polityki Rolnej UE określonej na lata 2014-2020 po raz pierwszy zezwolono na dofinansowywanie produktów ubezpieczeniowych opartych na indeksach.
