Preiotarea în limba română
Klimkowski, Tomasz
UAM, Instytut Filologii Romańskiej, Poznań
This paper analyses the phenomenon of preiotacisation in Romanian, which consists in the prothesis of a semi-consonant [j] before the initial [e]. In fact, this is only an orthographic convention, because in most cases (eu, ele, ești, e, este, eram) the initial [je] segment is a proper diphthong of different origins that is written e, instead of ie, like in other words. Preiotacisation appears only in the pronouns el, ei and in the Old Romanian pronunciation of some borrowed words. The [j]-prothesis cannot be separated from other types of prothesis attested in the spoken language. This tendency is parallel to the similar phenomenon from Slavic languages and possibly was developed under their influence.

Quelques remarques sur la langue et la forme des arrêts de la Cour de Cassation / Înalta Curte de Casație și Justiție. Regards croisés franco-roumains
Mastacan, Simina
Universitatea „Vasile Alecsandri” din Bacău
Sobieszewska, Marta
In view of the difficulties encountered by certain European attempts to guarantee the quality of the public service of justice in the different European States, the question of the language in which law is expressed naturally arises. This contribution is part of the jurilinguistic studies and aims to demonstrate the linguistic peculiarities of the judgments of the French Cour de Cassation [Court of Cassation] and the Romanian Înalta Curte de Casaţie şi Justiţie [High Court of Cassation and Justice]. As a first step, particular attention should be paid to the form of the judgments which leads to the more general reflection: would harmonization of the drafting techniques of legal texts have the virtue of removing the obstacles preventing legal communication within of the European Union? In a second step, it will be a question of showing the main linguistic characteristics of the judgments made. The studied corpus contains judgments from the Cour de Cassation and the Înalta Curte de Casaţie şi Justiţie.

Sandhi externe en macédonien et en roumain. Les assimilations de sonorité
Cychnerska, Anna
Uniwersytet im. Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu
The paper presents a comparative analysis of the assimilation in terms of voicing on the border between words in Macedonian and in Romanian. Although the compared languages belong to different language families, the pronunciation of the obstruental segments in this position is similar. In both Romanian and
Macedonian, a regular regressive assimilation is observed on the border between two words. In Macedonian, the voiced obstruent at the end of a word can be pronounced as a voiced or a voiceless before a resonant at the beginning of the next word. It is important that more often the voiced obstruent at the end of the word loses voicing before a vowel in the initial position than before a sonant. In Romanian, before a resonant in the initial position, the voiced obstruent in the final position of the word in front of it is pronounced voiced. The voiceless obstruent on the border between words can be pronounced as a voiced if it occurs before a sonant in the initial position of the next word. This is an optional phenomenon like the voiceless pronunciation of the voiced obstruent before a resonant on the border of two words in Macedonian. As one can see, in both languages, obstruents at the end of a word behave differently before initial vowels and sonants on the inter-word border.

Types de formants dans la dérivation fonctionnelle polonaise et roumaine : bases théoriques
Czarnecki, Szymon
Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu
The paper describes types of derivational formatives in Polish and Romanian functional, i.e. synchronic derivation, focusing on the proper derivation (i.e. derivation from single-word bases). The proper derivation is positioned as a type of word-formation and a branch of morphology. The author identifies the
primary functions of derivational formatives: the semantic, pragmatic and syntactic function. The formatives are identified using a methodology developed in Polish word-formation theory, especially within nest derivatology. Applying a methodology developed for the description of the Polish word-formation
system is aimed at distinguishing derivational formatives in Romanian. The author identifies and classifies the following types of derivational formatives in Romanian: affixes (among these prefixes, suffixes, postfixes and ambifixes), alternants (defined as members of alternation), negative formatives (in backformation), paradigmatic formatives (defined as changes in inflexional paradigm), zero formative and accentual formatives. The author also suggests including the types of word-formation stems in the description of the formal structure of derivatives.

Graiurile poloneze din Poiana Micului şi Bulai (Bucovina de Sud) – o perspectivă sociolingvistică de tip comparativ pe baza ALAB
Olariu, Florin-Teodor

Academia Română, Institutul de Filologie Română „A. Philippide”, Iași
The Polish communities from Bukovina have been studied in the last period through several research projects, initiated by both Polish and Romanian researchers. One of them is the Audiovisual Linguistic Atlas of Bukovina (ALAB), which aims to realize a radiography in multimedia format of the ethnolinguistic diversity of Bukovina. Regarding the Polish ethnic minority, in 2016 two field studies have been carried out in two localities: Bulai and Poiana Micului. Following the analysis of the material thus obtained, we managed to capture some characteristics both at the linguistic and the sociolinguistic level that individualize the two communities. Thus, from a linguistic point of view, the two dialects are different both at phonetic and lexical level, the Bulai dialect being more similar to the Polish literary language. At the sociolinguistic level has been observed the presence of a strong epilinguistic component in the Polish people speech, based on the representations and the attitudes that the Polish ethnic groups have regarding the status and the vitality of their own dialects.

Particulele afirmative în limba română – perspectivă diacronică și areală
Klimkowski, Tomasz
Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu
The present article analyses the Romanian affirmative particles from a diachronic and areal perspective in order to determine their origin. The analysis of a corpus of original literary texts and translations of religious texts as well as dictionaries and grammars from different epochs has resulted in distinguishing in Romanian the following affirmative particles: aşa (since the 16th, and especially the 17th century), ei (in the 16th century), ie (since the second half of the 18th century) and da (since the 19th century). As the last three can be put in the East European areal context, a natural explanation of their origin would be the assumption that they were borrowed respectively from Church Slavonic, German and Slavic. However, also because of the special status of affirmative particles as a part of basic vocabulary of most languages, we propose to apply to them the foothold theory inspired by Abraham’s half-open doors theory (2011). Accordingly, we believe that borrowing the particle ei from Church Slavonic could have used as a foothold the Old Romanian conjunction e (< lat. et) and the ie borrowed from German was superposed on the Romanian verbal form e ‘is’. On the other hand, the Slavic loanword da coincided with the inner semantic evolution of the Romanian forms dară ~ dar ~ da from an adversative conjunction to an affirmative particle.

La morphonologie du roumain : système d’alternances vs système de morphonèmes
Cychnerski, Tomasz
Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu
The paper confronts two models of the Romanian morphonological system. The first one is a complete set of alternations, which are based on three essential relations of purely formal opposition. These are 83 alternations that are even more subdivided, mainly by the criterion of their direction. The second one is made up of 117 morphonemes derived from directional alternations and is based on qualitative, quantitative and distributional opposition relations. Wider use can be achieved by a system of morphonemes, above all thanks to a strict way of defining the constituent units and their simple representation.

Ierodiacon. Notă lexicografică

In the present study, we aim to provide a critical analysis of the treatment of the word ierodiacon (hierodeacon) in several Romanian dictionaries. Following the investigation of a substantial number of documents, we also intend to show that there was a period in the history of the Romanian language in which a neutralization of the semantic opposition “married deacon (diacon de mir)” / ”monk deacon (diacon călugăr)” took place in some contexts, the term ierodiacon being used for both meanings. This phenomenon was not recorded in the historical dictionary of the Romanian language (relevant for the example under discussion being the old series, DA, coordinated by S. Pușcariu) nor in any other Romanian dictionary that we are aware of. At the end of the study we intend to add some theoretical reflections on the semantic evolution of ierodiacon, also referring to the way in which the entry for this term could be structured in the historical dictionary of the Romanian language.

Traducerea unei formule de salut biblice în română și polonă, în context romanic și slav
Klimkowski, Tomasz
Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0376-3110
The purpose of this article is to compare the different variants of the translation of the verse from Luke, 1:28 (the angelic salutation) into Romanian and Polish, and the modern versions of the prayer based on this passage. The analysis reveals the innovative character of the newer biblical translations, especially in the case of the Protestant versions, while the text of the Hail Mary prayer and its Eastern counterpart used by the Catholic and Orthodox Churches respectively preserves the traditional formula. At the same time,
this leads to semantic differences between the Romanian and Polish variants of this formula, due to the Greek and Church Slavonic model in the case of Romanian and the Latin model in the case of Polish. The linking element between the two languages is the formula used in the Polish Orthodox text, which follows the tradition of the Church Slavonic language and thus coincides with the Romanian version, having a literal meaning of ‘rejoice’, even though functionally it should be interpreted as a greeting.

Modelarea cuiburilor derivaționale ale verbelor emotive în limba română
Czarnecki, Szymon
Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań https://orcid.org/0009-0007-6903-884X
The present paper aims to model derivational networks (nests) of emotive verbs in Romanian, on the basis of the semantic-structural types of derivatives. First, we define the most important notions of the nest derivatology, we introduce the notion of derivational nest modelling and of semantic-structural types of derivatives, and describe the principles of the analysis. After that, the derivational nests of selected verbs and their formal-semantic analysis are presented, with semantic and formal aspects in the commentary after each nest. At the end, the matrix of models resulting from the juxtaposition of all nest models and the conclusions from the research are presented.
