Człowiek i Społeczeństwo https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis
"Człowiek i Społeczeństwo" - czasopismo naukowe Wydziału Antropologii i Kulturoznawstwa, Wydziału Filozoficznego, Wydziału Psychologii i Kognitywistyki oraz Wydziału Socjologii (dawny Wydział Nauk Społecznych) Uniwersytetu im.

POLITYKA FUNKCJONOWANIA CZASOPISMA

AKTUALNY NUMER

ARCHIWUM

INDEKSOWANE W:
CEEOL, BazEkon, Google Scholar, WorldCat, ERIH PLUS

WSKAŹNIKI OCENY CZASOPISMA:

Punktacja Ministerstwa Edukacji i Nauki (2021): 40

DOI: 10.14746/cis

ISSN (Print): 0239-3271

ISSN (Online): 0239-3271

PRACE PUBLIKOWANE W CZASOPIŚMIE DOSTĘPNE SĄ NA LICENCJI CREATIVE COMMONS Uznanie autorstwa – Bez utworów zależnych 4.0 Międzynarodowe.
Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan pl-PL Człowiek i Społeczeństwo 0239-3271
1. The aim of this article is to present a cross-sectional analysis of the main stages in the historical development of this discipline, and offer a general characterization of the current state of research. The means to achieving this goal of study is a confrontation between two partly competitive and partly complementary paradigmatic approaches to metaphilosophical reflection which currently determine a relatively wide range of interests in this theoretically promising and heuristically fertile field of philosophical analysis.
Andrzej Wawrzynowicz Copyright (c) 2022 Andrzej Wawrzynowicz 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 7 30 10.14746/cis.2022.53.1 Uwagi o genezie i koncepcjach metafilozofii https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34322
Although reflection on the nature of philosophy has constituted an integral part of this discipline from its beginnings, the term „metaphilosophy” referring to such a reflection only made its first appearance in the middle of the twentieth century. In the course of discussions concerning the book by C.J. Ducasse about the subject-matter and method of philosophy, the term was introduced in the United States by C.G. Hempel and M. Lazerowitz, and in Poland by M. Choynowski. Subsequently, two different metaphilosophical programs, which disseminated this category, were put forward by Lazerowitz and J. Kalinowski. They had dissimilar objectives and assumptions, though for both of them a crucial problem was the diversity of philosophical conceptions and persistent disagreements in philosophy.
Tadeusz Szubka Copyright (c) 2022 Tadeusz Szubka 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 33 47 10.14746/cis.2022.53.2 Metafilozofia i filozofia (analityczna) https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34324
This paper concerns metaphilosophy and its role in philosophy, particularly in analytic movement. In Introduction the genesis of the term „metaphilosophy” is described and function of metaphilosophical considerations – is it also argued that metaphilosophy is a part of philosophy. The relation of philosophy to science is considered as one the most important metaphilosophical problems. Since the author represents an analytic approach to philosophy, he devotes a separate section to general aspect of metaphilosophy in the context of analytic movement in contemporary philosophy. The method of paraphrases, illustrated by several examples, is proposed as a tool of philosophical analysis.
Jan Woleński Copyright (c) 2022 Jan Woleński 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 49 64 10.14746/cis.2022.53.3 O filozofii. Krótkie studium metafilozoficzne https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34325
The study is devoted to the general characteristics of philosophy. So it has a metaphilosophical character. This characteristic, however, is not a descriptive presentation of what philosophical authors (philosophers, both ancient and modern) think about the subject of their research. In the author’s view, this study is a proposal to understand philosophy, its methods, and its relationship to science and worldview. The role of logic in the philosopher’s work is emphasized, but at the same time it is considered indispensable for a specifically understood speculative element.
Ryszard Kleszcz Copyright (c) 2022 Ryszard Kleszcz 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 65 85 10.14746/cis.2022.53.4 Metafilozoficzne aspekty współczesnej myśli kosmologicznej https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34327
The objective of this article is to provide an answer to the question as to how to philosophize within the context of science, which constitutes a more specific version of one of the essential metaphilosophical questions: how should one philosophize? A compelling answer to such inquiries was proposed at the end of the 20th century by the Cracow philosophers of nature and went under the name of „philosophy in science” research program. In this elaboration, on the basis of findings originating in the cosmological domain, I analyze to what extent this is indeed an innovative answer to the metaphilosophical question stated above – that is how to philosophize within the context of science.
Sławomir Leciejewski Copyright (c) 2022 Sławomir Leciejewski 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 87 99 10.14746/cis.2022.53.5 Filozofia – autonomia i dominacja https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34329
The purpose of the paper is take a look from the perspective of the field theory of Pierre Bourdieu at the history of the Polish post-war philosophy with special attention given to the so-called Christian philosophy. In reference to Bourdieu’s research practice, the author postulates application of research strategies of the sociology of science/philosophy to historical and philosophical studies with a belief that they enhance the picture of philosophical dynamics of the past. From this point of view, the author focuses on relations between the field of Christian philosophy and the field of church authority, exposing the issue of philosophy’s autonomy.
Mirosław Tyl Copyright (c) 2022 Mirosław Tyl 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 101 118 10.14746/cis.2022.53.6 Filozofia jest możliwa tylko w klimacie rozstrzygnięć metafilozoficznych https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34331
The main idea of the text is the issue of philosophy referring to the metaphilosophy that is connected with it. The problem of separating metaphilosophy as a separate philosophical discipline was analysed. Attention was paid to the relations occurring between metaphilosophies of their own philosophies and the metaphilosophy as a separate discipline. Various interpretations of metaphilosophy research issues based on different theoretical perspectives were presented. The issue of treating metaphilosophies as a place of reference for the philosophical thought was raised, and issue of their rationality. In conclusion, a project of an exclusive form of second degree philosophy was presented.
Maciej Woźniczka Copyright (c) 2022 Maciej Woźniczka 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 119 135 10.14746/cis.2022.53.7 Metafilozofia negatywistycznej metafizyki unitarnej Leszka Nowaka https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34321
The theme of this paper is Leszek Nowak’s reconstruction and systematization of metaphilosophy of the negativistic unitarian metaphysics described in Being and Thought in four volumes, published in the years 1998, 2004, 2007, 2019. The goal of the article is to contribute to the discussion on the status of metaphilosophy. Metaphilosophy is understood here as a separate dimension of every philosophical conception determining, on the one hand, how we understand the realm of objects (what we postulate), on the other hand, how we choose methods for the construction of theories and ways to legitimize them. The author tries to show that Nowak’s metaphilosophy assumed in negativistic unitarian metaphysics meets exactly this definition of metaphilosophy.
The main purpose of the paper is to characterize the metaphilosophical paradigm of today’s philosophy.
The author argues that contemporary philosophical thought is thoroughly – and in a complex
sense – metaphilosophical in nature. Namely, it takes the form of philosophy’s reflection on itself
practiced after its end, but still from within philosophy. Understood in this way, metaphilosophy
unifies the formal-spatial and temporal meanings of the prefix “meta-” as well as the two corresponding
specific paradigms of metaphilosophy: philosophy of philosophy and post-philosophy. In order
to substantiate this hypothesis, (1) the Hegelian historical-philosophical position, which marks the
final moment of classical philosophy, is first presented, and on its basis the situation of contemporary
thought, which is determined by the problem of the future of philosophy, is outlined. (2) Then the
“early” and “late” philosophy of Martin Heidegger, which belongs to the metaphilosophical epoch
of post-classical philosophy, is discussed. (3) This ultimately allows the author not only to draw
conclusions about the condition of philosophy today, but also to outline an original context for
a potentially fruitful confrontation between these two authors, which is the second aim of the paper.
Cyprian Gawlik Copyright (c) 2022 Cyprian Gawlik 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 153 170 10.14746/cis.2022.53.9 Metafilozofia Władimira Erna https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34328
Vladimir Ern is often seen as a philosopher that focused mainly on defining the characteristic features
of Russian philosophy. When his philosophical works are interpreted in such a way, the biggest
stress is being put on the fact that he formulated a certain idea of national philosophy, which was
then transformed by him into a kind of national ideology during the World War I. The article tries
to show, that Ern should be treated first of all as an author who considered metaphilosophical issues
(and that this fact distinguishes him from the majority of the philosophers of Russian religiousphilosophical
renaissance, who were mainly interested in solving the metaphysical issues). He focused
on metaphilosophy because he was convinced, that philosophy is a field of the battle between two
notions of the essence of philosophical knowledge which exclude one another. Seen as such, his
philosophy should be interpreted as an attempt to find a proper way in philosophy and to reject
the wrong way. The authentic way, which gives a correct answer to the question concerning the
essence of philosophical knowledge, was seen by him in Christian Platonism. He tried to show, that
in the works of Plato can be found a certain theory of the spiritual development of man, which
is at the same time a genuine epistemology that shows the way of true philosophical knowledge.
Tomasz Herbich Copyright (c) 2022 Tomasz Herbich 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 171 186 10.14746/cis.2022.53.10 The living past and self-made future: Li Dazhao’s metaphilosophy of history https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34330
The paper offers a reconstruction and re-evalutation of the philosophy of history developed by Li Dazhao (1889–1927) – one of the first Chinese Communists. It is argued that despite its marginal treatment in scholarly literature, Li’s philosophy stands out from the thought of other Chinese Marxists for its creative interpretation of historical materialism and a critical engagement with Marx’s view of class struggle and the economic base. Furthermore, in his philosophy of history, Li Dazhao innovatively draws on the Confucian idea of Great Unity (datong), Daoist criticism of heroism, and, most importantly, the concept of ‘life’ in Lebensphilosophie. In addition, the article shows that Li’s view of the historical process was consistently complemented with an exceptional meta-philosophy of history and the philosophy of historiography which shared the premises of the much later narrativist epistemology of history.
Dawid Rogacz Copyright (c) 2022 Dawid Rogacz 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 187 199 10.14746/cis.2022.53.11 Transcendentalizm jako podstawa projektu zradykalizowanego dyskursu metafilozoficznego https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34332
The article is a comparative study of selected elements of three philosophical positions which arose on the theoretical underpinning of the concept of transcendental idealism: Johann Gottlieb Fichte’s Theory of Knowledge, Edmund Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology, and Marek J. Siemek’s transcendental philosophy. The primary aims of the study are to examine the epistemological assumptions underlying the three positions, and then critically reconstruct and bring into focus their metaphilosophical component. The article seeks to corroborate the titular thesis that transcendentalism as an epistemological position provides the concepts discussed here with a theoretical framework for a radically conceived interpretation of metaphilosophical discourse.
Andrzej Wawrzynowicz Copyright (c) 2022 Andrzej Wawrzynowicz 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 201 220 10.14746/cis.2022.53.12 Dwie koncepcje badań metafizycznych rozwijane w XX wieku w filozofii polskiej https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34333
The paper presents two different conceptions of metaphysics – scientistic and neoscholastic – developed in the 20th century by, among others, Polish philosophers: Stanisław Kamiński, Mieczysław Gogacz, Tadeusz Czeżowski and Zygmunt Zawirski. These authors refer to the problem of the possibility of conducting metaphysical research in contemporary philosophy. In this context, they examine issues such as the method, subject, and specificity of research carried out within metaphysics. In the summary, the discussed conceptions are compared with each other. The basic issues determining the similarities and differences between respective positions are the problem of the autonomy of metaphysics in relation to other sciences and the issue of the starting point (source of preliminary data) of metaphysical research. Findings regarding the latter issue turn out to be crucial for resolving the question of the appropriate model for research in metaphysics.
Dominik Marciniak Copyright (c) 2022 Dominik Marciniak 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 223 239 10.14746/cis.2022.53.13 Big data a problem reprezentacji poznawczej https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34334
In this article, the author reflects on Big Data analytics in the context of the problem of cognitive representation. There are many voices declaring that the era of Big Data has brought a radical breakthrough in human cognitive abilities. Some – especially in the world of business and marketing, and to a lesser extent in the field of science – argue that for the first time we can reach a clean, objective picture of reality and keep track of its changes. The article is a critical commentary to this thesis. In Big Bata analytics, cognitive activities are assessed not from the point of view of their compliance with reality, but the possibility of achieving set goals. Big Data mining can be, and often is, an important tool for reality control and forecasting – which does not mean it can discover objective truth and create accurate representations of reality.
Łukasz Iwasiński Copyright (c) 2022 Łukasz Iwasiński 2022-06-27 2022-06-27 53 241 261 10.14746/cis.2022.53.14 Recenzja monografii Kształcenie socjologów w uczelniach publicznych i niepublicznych w Polsce autorstwa Krystyny Leśniak-Moczuk https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/cis/article/view/34335
The subject of the review is a monograph focusing on looking for the causes and determinants of changes taking place in the education system of sociologists in Poland.
