Aim and Scope

Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review is a general peer-refereed journal devoted to legal sciences designed to contribute original papers on theoretical, interdisciplinary, comparative and doctrinal oriented inquiries into the Middle European perspective so the journal seeks to take a broad approach to legal scholarship, publishing original articles on international law, European domestic legal systems, the theory and philosophy of law, and legal history in this context.

 

There are no fees for submitting an article to Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review, for the editorial process, or for final publication.The journal provides immediate, open access under CC BY 4.0 License to all its content published from 2023 and CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 to all its content published from 2016 to 2022, in accordance with the principle that freely available research increases and accelerates global scientific development and the exchange of knowledge.

 

The editorial board of the journal  welcomes new proposals for articles written in English every year until May the 15th.

 

Articles published from 2023 are licenced under the terms of:

Peer Review Process

Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review has established procedures for external double blind peer review, provided by scholars and scientists representing all areas of legal science.

Texts that have been submitted for publication in Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review are reviewed by peer reviewers – experts in a given field.

A double blind peer review procedure is established in the journal.

The peer review is issued in written form and concludes with an unequivocal statement of rejection or acceptance for publication.

The peer reviewers evaluating the submitted text of the article fill in a review form, which is available on the website.

The criteria regarding approval or rejection of the submitted article are presented in the review form.

Personal data on the peer reviewers of particular articles are not published. A list of the peer reviewers who collaborate with the journal is published once a year.

I Publisher, Copyright and Open Access Policy

1. Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review is published by the Adam Mickiewicz University, Faculty of Law and Administration.

2. There are no fees for submitting an article to Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review, for the editorial process, or for final publication.

3. Authors retain the copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions. All publication are published under an open licence. The journal provides immediate, open access under CC BY 4.0 License to all its content published from 2023 and CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 to all its content published from 2016 to 2022, in accordance with the principle that freely available research increases and accelerates global scientific development and the exchange of knowledge. The editorial board encourages authors to deposit the publisher’s final version of their articles that are published in the journal in open repositories, provided that a link to the journal’s webpage and the DOI number of the article are included.

4. Preserved for long-term access in PKP Preservation Network. The journal takes part in the Initiative for Open Citations I4OC.

5. Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review follows the priciples of the cOAlition S Plan.

6. The publication of the journal is financed by the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań and Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań.

II Submissions


II A General information on submissions

1. Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review is currently accepting new proposals for manuscripts for print consideration on an ongoing basis.

2. Those interested in publishing an article are kindly requested to mail their contributions to the following address: ppuam@amu.edu.pl.

3. The length of the text must be within the range of 20000-40000 characters, including text and footnotes. The article must also be accompanied by an abstract of 600-1000 characters, written in English with a glossary of keywords and literature notes.

4. Please also attach the author’s biographical note and the scientific specialisation the article might be classified under. We request an anonymized version of the manuscript. The title page with the author’s/ authors’ personal details, correspondence address, telephone numbers, institutional email address, and ORCID identifier must be attached as a separate file.

All manuscripts that have been submitted for publication in the journal should follow Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law bliographical style according to the footnoses sample and reference sample.

4. Purposes of processing personal data

The personal data of authors and reviewers are processed by the Editorial Board of Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review: if the authors are applying to have an article published in the journal Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review, or if the authors already have had an article published; and for the purpose of managing and documenting the review, editorial and publishing process.

5. Data processing for the requirements of Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review with regard to authors who are applying to have an article published in Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review, or who have already had an article published, and with regard to reviewers, the data processed by the Editorial Board may include: first and last names, residential or registered addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, academic degrees or titles, affiliations, scientific interests, information about grants obtained, information about persons who cooperate scientifically with the author, information about personal or professional relations or concerning the author’s professional superiors, and any other information provided by the aforementioned persons.

6. The data referred to in the paragraph 1 may be made available to:
6.1 Members of the Editorial Board and the Scientific Board of Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review.
6.2 The publisher of Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review.
6.3. Entities managing repositories and databases of scientific texts in terms of the data necessary to assess the quality of the review, editorial and publishing process.
6.4 State authorities, following their legally justified request.
7. The data referred to in paragraph 1 shall be processed:
7.1. With regard to the data necessary to document and evaluate the quality of the review editorial and publishing process, for a period of 10 years from the date of publication of the article in Przegląd Prawniczy Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza / Adam Mickiewicz University Law Review, or from the completion of the review process of the authors or reviewers.
7.2  With regard to other data – until the date on which consent is withdrawn, not longer than 10 years from the moment indicated in point 7.1.
8. The rights of persons whose data are processed
8.1. Persons whose data are processed have the right: to information about the scope of their processed personal data, to access these data, to transfer these data, to request the correction of data, to request the deletion or restriction of data processing, to object to the processing of data and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The request for deletion of processed data may be made by e-mail, to this address: ppuam@amu.edu.pl.
8.2. The scope of the right to demand the deletion or restriction of data processing, and to object to its processing, is limited due to the legitimate legal interest of the administrator, which is evident in the need to document information necessary for tax purposes or to document the review, editorial and publishing process.
