Abstract

Modern technologies offer modern education a range of unlimited possibilities, but at the same time they bring with them specific risks, by no means trivial. A special place in this field is occupied by augmented reality, which extends the “traditional” offer of the digital world and simultaneously embeds the beings created in the digital world in the reality of the world around us. In my reflections, I focus on the role of augmented reality in education, also in terms of the advantages and disadvantages of this technology in teaching history. I have tried to address the challenges of digital humanities, an issue that I believe to be extremely important and topical in the world of contemporary education and culture.
