„Sam pejzaż myśli we mnie”. Szkic o fenomenologii pejzażu

Abstract

This article attempts to describe the various aspects of landscape phenomenology, especially in its post-Husserlian and post-Heideggerian approaches in France. In the context of landscape, phenomenologists refer to Husserl’s categories of horizon and epoché, but also to Husserl’s account of nature and the category of Lebenswelt, to the embodied subjectivity described by Maurice Merleau-Ponty and its spatial coexistence with the world. The reflections of Martin Heidegger, but also of Ludwig Binswanger, play an important role in these considerations. However, the starting point for a phenomenologically framed landscape remains the theory of the German psychologist Erwin Straus, who made the concept of landscape a key category and gave it an original and unusual meaning. The article follows Straus and Maldiney, describes landscape in terms of Merleau-Ponty’s and Dufrenne’s philosophy, and finally focuses on sketching the assumptions of eco-phenomenology, asking whether its practical engagement can be reconciled with the metaphysical assumptions of recent phenomenological concepts.
