The Centre for Environmental Law and Sustainable Development (CELSD) at the School of Law, GD Goenka University, India represents a forward-thinking initiative dedicated to addressing pressing environmental challenges through interdisciplinary research, policy advocacy, and global collaboration.
CELSD’s mission is to bridge the gap between law, governance, and sustainability, focusing on climate justice, biodiversity conservation, and renewable energy governance. The Centre’s work spans specialized academic programs, expert consultancy, and impactful publications that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through partnerships with global institutions and practitioners, CELSD seeks to advance innovative solutions for achieving equitable and sustainable development worldwide.

Theme of the Issue

“Comparative Legilinguistics in Environmental Law and Sustainability: Bridging Global and Local Narratives”

This special issue invites original, unpublished, and interdisciplinary research papers exploring comparative, linguistic, and legal dimensions of environmental law, sustainability governance, and related fields. The issue aims to examine how language, law, and policy interact to shape environmental justice and sustainable development frameworks across jurisdictions.

1) Environmental Law and Policy

  • Environmental litigation, constitutional rights, and public interest
  • Governance models for sustainability (local to global)
  • Maritime environmental law and governance: pollution control and sustainable use of marine resources

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished, adhering to high academic and ethical standards.
  • Papers may adopt comparative, doctrinal, empirical, or interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Manuscripts should follow APA 7th Edition citation style.
  • Word limit: 5,000–8,000 words (including references).
  • Abstract: 250–300 words with 4–6 keywords.
