Abstract

The article is an unfinished introduction to a book that the late philosopher Mark Fisher planned late in his life and that he never had a chance to complete. In it, he outlines the concept of acid communism, i.e. a mental provocation pointing to the need to rethink the cultural heritage of the radical movements of the 1960s and 1970s, especially in the context of a tension between the individual and the collective that was inherent within them. The works of Herbert Marcuse, in particular, remain an important inspiration for Fisher's thoughts.
