Abstract
The tenement house archaeologically examined in 2018, was in the block of old town buildings contained between Kramarska, Wroniecka, Mokra and Żydowska Streets, at the western frontage of Żydowska Street. During the excavation unspecified traces of medieval skeletal structures were found in the front part of the house. The beginnings of brick buildings could be dated to the first half of the 16th century, although it is not certain whether this did not happen later, even after 1590. The small, two tracts building, erected at that time, was successively expanded in the following centuries, including the addition of a third tract and the construction of additional floors. The tenement was destroyed by war in 1945. The present, extremely modest form of the building is one of the testimonies of the post-war reconstruction of Poznań Old Town.
