Abstract
The contemporary situation in the Polish countryside has resulted in the emergence of a mixed code (the language of the village inhabitants), containing elements of the traditional dialect as well as colloquial, social, and other varieties. In lexicographic practice, the observed internal diversity of the rural language can be approached in two ways. The differential approach assumes recording only the dialect vocabulary, while the full approach aims to record the entire vocabulary used in the countryside. The aim of the article is to present how the presence of different varieties of the language in the countryside is reflected in the structure of the regional dictionary. In terms of the macrostructure, attention has been paid to the selection of entries, and in terms of the microstructure of the dictionary – to quotations. The material collected for dictionaries from the Konin area, will serve as an example. This is because one of the main assumptions of this publication is to present a wide range of linguistic material.
