About PRESSto

PRESSto is a professional publishing platform that provides hosting and services for editorial teams of AMU electronic journals tailored for modern online publications. The editorial process of PRESSto is based on the OJS system (Open Journal Systems software). The platform is appropriately configured and adjusted to support current standards for scholarly electronic publications.

PRESSto offers an innovative system for  managing electronic journals and is aimed at supporting works of editors and facilitating efficient communication between editors of a journal and authors and reviewers. In addition, PRESSto provides reliable electronic circulation of all necessary documents in the publishing process, from the manuscript submission, through the reviewing process, and finally the publication of the final version of an article.

The main objective of the PRESSTo platform, established in 2015, is to increase the prestige of the University worldwide through a presentation of the publishing potential of peer-reviewed journals as well as broad promotion of scholarly content published in the AMU journals.

Another objective of the platform is to increase impact factors of journals; prioritise an increase in indexation of research journals in research searching engines and databases, and, in particular, assist the preparation of periodicals for evaluation in the SCOPUS database. Yet another objective is to increase the visibility of articles and provide support in cooperation with a larger number of authors and reviewers from abroad.

All journals hosted on the PRESSto platform are published in the Open Access model, which means that full-text articles are available at no charge for all interested parties, using a Creative Commons license.

Each journal published at AMU that has been accepted to the database will benefit from a number of advantages: a dedicated individual multi-language web-page and automatic activation of DOI identifiers, and will enjoy the introduction to a coherent operational policy for a given title, in line and consisted with appropriate international rules and regulations as well as compatible with the ministerial requirements. Other advantages include: implementation of a relevant CC license, introduction of the list of references (bibliography), additional reading tools: export of descriptions to bibliographic reference software programs, availability of information on the articles in research social portals, the overall number of citations count for a given article, generation of statistics of views and downloads of articles, as well as altmetric indicators; the possibility to publish articles in different formats, and open OAI-PMH protocols that enable articles to be exported to external databases and aggregators.

More information for AMU journal editorial teams is available under the tab For Editors.
