professor, Dean of the Department of Composition, Music Theory, Eurhythmies and Art Education at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Arts of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw in 1988, and her dissertation was later published as Polska muzyka organowa w latach 1945-1985 [Polish organ music 1945-1985] (Łódź, 1993). She is the author of the first Polish monographs of Frank Martin: Język muzyczny Franka Martina [The musical language of Frank Martin] (Łódź, 1995) and Frank Martin - Konteksty muzyczne [Frank Martin. Musical contexts] (Łódź, 2002). She is also co-author of the lexicon Łódzkie środowisko kompozytorskie 1945 - 2000 [Łódź composers, 1945-2000] (Łódź, 2001) and author of numerous articles on contemporary music, including Polish, Lithuanian and American composers. She is also an organist (numerous recitals in Poland, and also in the USA, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland).
