Abstract
The article discusses the issue of public-private partnership (PPP) in the context of the accessibility of public space for people with special needs. The aim of the study was to determine the potential of this form of cooperation between the public and private sectors in ensuring accessibility. The author hypothesized that the implementation of public-private partnerships in areas such as transport or medical and rehabilitation services will lead to increased access to them for people with special needs. The study discusses issues such as accessibility as a human right, persons with special needs and public-private partnership. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the database of PPPs in Poland showed that institutions belonging to the public finance sector in Poland do not intensively use cooperation in the PPP formula, and at the same time do not implement activities related to ensuring accessibility using this tool. The good practices presented in the last part indicate the significant potential of PPP in this area.
