Abstract
The article presents the definition and theoretical framework of the phenomenon of MPs who received a seat in the Sejm for the first time. Thanks to the desk research method, statistical data on the following are presented “rookie MPs” of the Polish Sejm in the 21st century. The aim of the study is to determine the scale of the phenomenon of MPs debaters and to identify the conditions that influence it. The subject is therefore the rookie MPs in the Polish Sejm in the 21st century. The first factor analysed is the effect of the election result and the research question: is the higher number of debutant MPs correlated with the situation of alternation of power after the elections? The second factor analysed is the outcome of the largest parties in progressive elections. In this case, the research question is: does a (significant) change in the outcome of the group(s) that have so far dominated in the Sejm has an impact on the number of newcomers? The third issue is, in turn the presence of new parties and the question: what impact on the scale of the phenomenon of debutantes have new parties appearing on the Polish party scene?
