Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Articles should range from 15-20 pages.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1. The paper is an original work and has not been published, submitted, or accepted elsewhere in any form; copyrights of third parties have not been breached.

2. Articles should range from 15 to 20 pages.

3. An abstract of no more than 250 words should be included at the end of the article.

4. Articles should be submitted in Word format, Times New Roman 12, one-and-a-half-spaced, with 2,5 cm margins.

5. Spelling should follow the Oxford English Dictionary.

6. Each additional element (chart, table, drawing, diagram) should be described with the title (Times New Roman 12) and the source (Times New Roman 10). The title should be placed above, and information about the source below the presented graph, table, drawing, or diagram.

7. Quotations should be indicated by using double inverted commas.

8. Italics should be used for titles of books, titles of articles, and short foreign phrases or names only.

9. The Harvard system of referencing is preferred. This consists of: brief citation in the text; and a list of references at the end of the text.

10. Citations should have the following form:

  • legal acts: Constitution of the Republic of Poland (1997), Journal of Laws 1997, No. 78, item 483.
  • monographs: Barber B.R. (2003), Strong Democracy Participatory Politics for a New Age, Berkeley-Los Angeles-London.

  • articles in scientific periodicals: Friedent L.A. (1998), New Citizenship, “Media & Society”, Vol. 18, No. 2.

  • Internet resources: Institute for Economics & Peace (2024), Global Peace Index 2024, https://reliefweb.int/report/world/global-peace-index-2024 (11.06.2024).

11. In the case of materials from websites, the bibliography should include current URL addresses of the cited websites.

12. Only explanatory footnotes, the number of which should not exceed 10, may be placed at the bottom of the page.

13. The author cannot edit the text during editorial work. The final form of the material should be sent to the editors.

14. A biographical note (in the form of a separate file not exceeding 0.5 pages of standard typescript) and information indicating the correspondence address, e-mail address, and affiliation of the author should be sent along with the text.
