About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The aim of the journal is to create possibilities to share views and present results of research focusing on contemporary international relations, internal and international security and strategic studies.
The "Strategic Review" aims at encouraging discussion and debate among scholars and practitioners especially in the fields of: International Relations theory, Theory of Security, International Security, Geostrategy, Terrorism, Anti-Terrorism, Economic Security, Energy Security, Human Security.
Since 2014, the "Strategic Review" is published once a year. The electronic version is the primary version of the journal.

Peer Review Process

The Editorial Board of the academic periodical “Strategic Review” carries out a preliminary verification of submitted texts to examine their relevance for the profile of the periodical and conformity to editorial requirements.
Texts that have been initially approved are submitted for evaluation by two qualified academic reviewers listed as collaborators of the periodical.
If a text is written in a foreign language, one of the reviewers is affiliated with an institution abroad.
The principle of anonymity is observed in the review process with respect to the author and the reviewers (the double-blind review process).
The names of the reviewers of individual texts are not disclosed. Once a year names of all collaborating reviewers are made public.
During the review process, original character of the text is taken into consideration, as well as confirmity with the thematic profile of the journal, realisation of scientific aims, presentation of scientific problem, usage of scientific literature, justification of statements and conclusions.
Evaluation is prepared in a written form, according to the guidelines of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education published in the booklet Dobre praktyki w procedurach recenzyjnych w nauce [Good practices in academic review procedures].
The review procedure shall be concluded in 4 months.

Open Access Policy

The Open Access Policy allows authors to make their writings openly accessible. The immediate online dissemination of scholary research results in growth of new knowledge and increased impact of research as articles available online are more often cited.

Authors are asked to read the Open Access Policy rules adopted by the journal.

Articles are available in the databases: Scopus, CEEOL and AMUR Repository, Index Copernicus, BazHum, CEJSH, Repozytorium PBN, EBSCO Central and Eastern European Academic Source, WorldCat.

Publishing ethics

The periodical “Strategic Review” has introduced procedures necessary to eliminate cases of “ghostwriting” and “guest authorship”.
Authors are obliged to assure that copyrights of third parties have not been breached. All authors are also obliged to assure that their articles are original works and have not been published, submitted, or accepted elsewhere in any form. In case of co-authored articles, each author is obliged to declare the above.
Texts, which do not fulfill the above requirements cannot be published.
The Editorial Board of the academic journal "Strategic Review" has adopted the following publishing ethics rules according to guidelines approved by COPE – the Committee on Publication Ethics.
