Abstract
The article is devoted to Ukrainizations spanning over 100 years of Ukraine’s history. The main purpose of the study is to review the measures for the nationalization of the Ukrainian language in the basic areas of language policy implementation, in particular, the legal, cultural, linguistic and educational spheres. One of the tasks of research is to compare the achievements and failures of the two previous Ukrainizations with the one currently taking place. The analysis shows that in the case of all three Ukrainizations, the subsequent Ukrainization measures were first legislatively enacted and then implemented. The greatest success in the educational sphere is attributed to the second Ukrainization and the era of the Executed Renaissance. In turn, the greatest successes in the cultural and linguistic spheres are occurring now. The article emphasizes the incomplete nature of the latest Ukrainization as a result of the war and the significant emigration of Ukrainians abroad. It also notes internal and external obstacles that slow down the implementation of the strategic goal of the language policy of the modern Ukrainian state.
