Abstract
The research was carried out in areas where the Zagórze dialect is spoken. The lexical analysis includes both the names of the individual elements of the hand tool as well as the vocabulary of activities related to the scythe. An important aspect of the analysis is the cultural function performed by the scythe in the Zagórze community. From this perspective, manufacturing and sharpening of the scythe have been recreated. Because of the research population’s diverse age, the article indirectly shows how the vocabulary related to agrarian themes evolved in the area under scrutiny.References
