Blind Peer Review Process

The Journal of Gender and Power is a peer-reviewed academic journal. All submissions are initially evaluated by the editors. From 2026 onwards, manuscripts undergo a plagiarism screening process using the iThenticate system. Submissions that meet the journal’s scientific and editorial standards are then sent for external review. The Journal of Gender and Power follows a rigorous single-blind review process; therefore, each article is reviewed by two peer reviewers. The selected reviewers, who have international reputation and authority, are not members of the editorial board and are not employed by the institution publishing the journal. To ensure a fair review process, articles are never sent to reviewers from the same institution as the authors. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations as well as consultations among members of the editorial board, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding publication.
