New Africa is on arrival! Critical reflections on cultural relations between the European Union and African countries

Abstract

In a time when the possibility of returning African artefacts looted during the colonial era is being widely discussed among specialists, the question arises regarding the role and significance of contemporary cultural relations between the European Union and African states. This essay analyses the current challenges faced by the few initiatives aimed at bringing closer the modern cultural institutions of both continents. It also highlights the urgent need to intensify cultural diplomacy efforts on the most dynamically developing continent.
