Abstract

The presented article analyzes the use of the citizen science paradigm in the areas of social science and political science. Its purpose is to 1. catalog databases dedicated to projects using the citizen science (CS), 2. analyze European research projects with a CS component, with particular emphasis on social sciences, including political science. The empirical analysis is embedded in a quantitative and qualitative approach to information available in databases available on the websites of regional CS associations. Based on the conducted analysis, it was also discovered that CS is quite commonly used in research projects carried out in Europe and around the world. At the same time there has been a risk of using this paradigm as “trendy”, but de facto employed in to a limited extent.
