Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Instructions and Information for Authors Publishing in Poznańskie Studia Polonistyczne. Seria Literacka

An article’s acceptance for publication in the paper version of the journal signifies the author’s manifest consent for the text to be disseminated in the electronic database used by the editors.

The file should be in Microsoft Word (doc or docx) format or RTF.

The author’s first and last name, the name of his or her university or academic institution, the city wherein he or she resides, and the title of the article should all be on the first page of the article.

Text formatting:

  1. Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.;
  2. Spacing: 1.5;
  3. Justified; 
  4. Page numbers: lower right corner;
  5. Foreign words, expressions, and sentences should be in italics;
  6. Emphasis placed by the author should be in boldface type;
  7. Quotations should be within quotation marks;
  8. A quotation within a quotation should be in French-style quotation marks, e.g. «thus»;
  9. Titles of works referred to in the text should be in italics;
  10. Photographs, drawings, charts should be subscribed and numbered; photographs should be sent in a separate file (JPG or TIFF format);
  11. Bibliographical entries should follow MLA guidelines – bracketed within the text: author, date of publication, page number(s), e.g. [Kowalski 1999: 5];
  12. There should be a list of abbreviations used in the article at the end of the text;
  13. There should be an alphabetized bibliography of works cited (including websites) at the end of the text, e.g.:
  • book: Kowalski Adam (1999), Poetyka, Wydawnictwo Alfa, Warszawa; 
  • article published in a group volume: Nowak Anna (2000), Strategiczna reorganizacja firmy, in: Podręcznik reorganizacji firmy, ed. Maciej Michałowski, Wydawnictwo Alfa, Warszawa, pp. 223–245; 
  • article published on the Internet: Nowak Olga (2005), Nowe horyzonty [online], Wrocław [accessed 5 July 2014] https://www.google.pl/?gws_rd=ssl; 
  • article published in a magazine: Wilkoń Aleksander (1999), Typologia współczesnych stylów literackich. Style poetyckie, „Zeszyty Literackie”, pp. 11, 111–132.

The following attachments should be sent with the article:

  1. Bibliography of works cited (in cases of articles with a DOI number, it should be mentioned in the bibliography), 
  2. Article summary in Polish or English (1000 characters maximum with spaces), 
  3. Keywords,
  4. A note with information on the author’s professional affiliations, published works, and scholarly interests, as well as e-mail address (private or professional),
  5. Authors whose submissions include illustrations subject to copyright are kindly asked to obtain appropriate permissions beforehand and send a copy thereof to the editors.
