Abstract
The article presents the manuscript entitled Letters from the edge of the forests by Wacław Sieroszewski which has not been published anywhere until now. This work is held in the writer’s archive in the National Library in Warsaw. It contains two letters (whereby the second one has not remained in one piece) written during the first period of Sieroszewski’s stay in Siberia. The author describes the impressions from the visits to encampments of two Siberian tribes: the Lamuts and the Chukchi. The commentary of the manuscript is an attractive source material that can be interesting for various scientists: editors, cultural anthropologists, historians, literary scholars, literary theorists and biographers of Sieroszewski as well.
