About the Journal

Aims and Scope

Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej [Yearbook of European Integration] is an academic periodical of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The first issue was published in 2007. The principal objective of the periodical is to provide a platform for the presentation of research into the processes of European integration. The Rocznik is also a forum for the exchange of opinions among researchers dealing with European studies. Successive issues of the Rocznik include the results of surveys conducted in the following thematic areas: law, internal politics, economy, foreign policy, security, defense, society and culture. Every effort is made to ensure the selection of texts providing the possibility of a confrontation of the research methods, concepts and theoretical approaches applied.

Each issue of the Rocznik includes reviews and discussions. The Editorial Board points out significant publications on European integration that have emerged on the publishing market.

The authors encompass Polish and foreign researchers from a variety of academic institutions. We prefer texts written in congress languages. The authors are requested to read the guidelines for authors. Texts written in the English, Russian and German languages are linguistically verified by language editors of the periodical.

The Editorial Board endeavors to ensure a high standard of papers. After initial, formal verification, all papers are reviewed. They are sent to external reviewers collaborating with the Editorial Board. Publication is conditional on a positive assessment of the reviewers and the approval of the Editorial Board to include the paper in a successive issue of the Rocznik. We apply procedures to eliminate such practices as ‘ghost authorship’ and ‘guest authorship’.

The Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej [Yearbook of European Integration] team is to be fully committed to good publication practice and accept the responsibility for fulfilling the duties and responsibilities, as set by COPE Code of Conduct.

We have the pleasure of informing you that the Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej has been accredited by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Authors are awarded 40 points for publishing an academic paper in our periodical.

The journal is indexed in Index Copernicus database. Articles are available in the database CEEOL and AMUR repository, BazHum, CEJSH, Repozytorium PBN, EBSCO Central and Eastern European Acdemic Source, World Cat. We are also indexed in the DOAJ database.

In June 2015, the journal was included in the ERIH Plus list.

The journal is published in electronic and print versions. The electronic version is the primary version of the journal.

Peer Review Process

Reviewing procedure and list of reviewers: The editors of the Yearbook of European Integration carry out initial verification of the submitted texts, examining the adequacy of the subject of the article with the profile of the yearly and compliance with the editorial requirements. Pre-approved texts are submitted for review to two people from among the external reviewers cooperating with the Editorial Office on the list. The names of the reviewers of individual texts are not disclosed. In the case of texts prepared in a foreign language, one of the reviewers is affiliated with the foreign institution. Once a year, the journal publishes a list of cooperating reviewers. The anonymity of both the author and the reviewers is preserved in the review process (double-blind review process). Reviewers, evaluating the text, fill in the review form. The review contains an unambiguous conclusion regarding the approval of the material for publication. The review has a consultative function, which means that the final decision regarding the acceptance of the text for publication is made by the Editorial Board of the Yearbook. Detailed rules for reviewing articles correspond to the guidelines of the Ministry of Science contained in the brochure "Good practices in reviewing procedures in science". Authors are kindly asked to read the journal's Open Access Policy.

Open Access Policy

The Open Access Policy allows authors to make their writings openly accessible. The immediate online dissemination of scholary research results in growth of new knowledge and increased impact of research as articles available online are more often cited.

For this reason, the journal “Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej” decided to apply best practices and standards in open access according to DOAJ principles. Authors of scholary articles accepted for publication in the periodical “Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej” grant the publisher (Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań) an exclusive right to publish their articles in traditional printed form and in electronic form (via the Internet site of the journal; AMUR–Adam Mickiewicz University’s open access repository; Pressto open-access platform; and BazHum, CEEOL, CEJSH, EBSCO Central and Eastern European Academic Source databases). In case of co-authored articles, each joint author grants the publisher an exclusive right mentioned above.

Consequently, articles provided to the “Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej” publisher will be stored, preserved, and made accessible in digital form. The full text of all content is available for free and open access without delay under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. License (CC BY 4.0), which means that texts may be copied, downloaded, redistributed and shared only if appropriate credit is given.

Granting an exclusive right to publish articles in traditional printed form and in electronic form, guarantees that any restriction on dissemination are lifted and authors get recognition they deserve (In accordance with the guidelines contained in: Open Access Publishing and Scholarly Societies. A Guide, Budapest Open Access Initiative, July 2005, s. 21.), as deposits are made as early as possible, no later than the date of formal publication.
