AfD on the European Union and Europe in 2024. Content analysis of election programs

Abstract

The elections held in Germany in 2024 confirmed the growing popularity of the AfD, which is gradually strengthening its position on the political scene in Germany. This process is particularly visible in the eastern part of the country, where the party enjoys higher than general German support. The aim of this study is to analyze selected content of the party’s election programs prepared before the elections to the European Parliament and the state elections in Brandenburg, Saxony and Thuringia, concerning EU and European issues.
