Sense of Agency and Trust in the Political System of Citizens of the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the Context of Political Orientation

Abstract

The aim of this text is to analyse the political culture of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the context of their declared political orientation. My intention is to present individual manifestations of political culture in relation to specific countries and political views. To carry out this task, I use the latest results of the European Social Survey (edition 11). This is an attempt to answer the question about the differences in selected observable aspects of political culture between individual countries of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as within them. The features of political culture selected for research for the purposes of the text are a sense of one’s own agency towards the political system and trust in institutions and law. The variables measuring these features were treated as dependent. The country and the political orientation of the respondents were treated as independent variables.
