Abstract
The article outlines the functions of the Ukrainian language textbook, in particular world outlook function, developing, informative, refl ective, corrective functions. Particular attention is paid to the problem of a competence approach implementation in the educational process, which causes the textbook functions transformation, singling out of new functions, which correspond to the new social challenges.References
