Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text has not been previously published, nor has it been covered by another journal.
  • The digital version of the text shall be submitted in Microsoft Word (Latin 2) or Word Perfect.
  • If available, URLs for references shall be provided. References in the alphabetical order shall be included at the end of the article.
  • The text submitted for publication shall comply with the editorial standards of the American Psychological Association.
  • The text shall be formatted according to the Guidelines for the Author.
  • The author shall grant the Publisher a free and non-exclusive license to use the work pursuant to the contract. UAM shall have the right to store, act upon, and reproduce the deposited materials free of charge. UAM shall acquire the right to ensure universal access to bibliographical descriptions.
  • The entire document shall be double spaced. Illustrations, charts, and tables shall be in Arabic numerals, provided with short captions (up to 20 words), and included at the end of the text.
  • The author shall enclose the authorship statement.

Author Guidelines

Principle guidelines for authors:
1) adjusting the title of the article to the theme issue.
2) providing author's affiliation, mailing address, and ORCID number in the headline.
3)providing references, an abstract in English, and 4-5 keywords in Polish and English.

Submission guidelines:
1. The final text prepared in accordance with the above-mentioned instructions, shall be submitted in electronic form, together with the authorship declaration.
2. Authors are allowed to prepare the manuscript in the chosen text editor: Microsoft Word (diactrical marks: Latin 2) or Word Perfect.
3. Texts for publications shall meet the standards of the American Psychological Association. The titles of particular parts/subparts shall be clearly separated, but not numbered (for titles capital letters shall be used, they shall also be centred, titles of the subparts sgall be underlined).
4. The whole text shall be written with double line spacing. Words shall not be divided. Space bar shall not be used.
5. A footnote without a marker informing about the source of funding or mailing address shall appera at the bottom of the first page.
6. An abstract and keywords shall appear on the first page of the article or research report. The abstract shall be short (no more than 1500 characters including spaces) and present the main results (in the case of an empirical study) or main theses formulated by the author (in the case of theoretical and review articles).
8. Drawings, diagrams, and tables shall be marked with Arabic numerals, briefly described (up to 20 words), and included at the end of the text. If a drawing/table contains acronyms, they shall be explained under the drawing/table in the form of a footnote. All the drawings and tables shall also be submitted in electronic form. Drawings and tables shall be made with the aid of the chosen tool (Microsoft Office, Word Perfect Presentation, Corel Draw, Statistica or SPSS for Windows) and shall be submitted in their final shape.
9. In-text quotations shall include the author's surname (without the name and initials) and the year.
References shall appear in alphabetical order at the end of the article and shall be complete.
The description of an article shall comply with the following pattern:
author's surname, name initials, year of publication, the title of the article, the title of the journal (in italics), issue of the journal, and pages:
Obrębska, M., Kleka P. (2016). Wpływ aktywizacji schematu płci i potrzeby dostosowania interpersonalnego na wybory leksykalne kobiet i mężczyzn. Psychologia Społeczna, 11, 2, 170-182.
The description of joint publication shall include:
author's surname, initials, year of publication, the title of the article, the surname and name initial of joint publication author, the title of joint publication (in italics), page of the chapter, place of publication and publisher's name:

The description of a book shall include:
author's surname, initials, year of publication, the title of the book (in italics), place of publication and publisher's name:

The editorial office shall reserve the right to revise minor inaccuracies.
