History
Folia Praehistorica Posnaniensia was established in 1984 by the eminent medieval archaeologist and archaeological methodologist, Prof. Jan Żak. From the beginning it has been published annually. Volume I appeared in 1985 (for 1984) and since then the journal has been published regularly. Nowadays, Folia Praehistorica Posnaniensia is currently published in both in a print and electronic versions (available at: www. pressto.amu.edu). At the beginning, the aim of the journal was only to present and promote the scientific achievements and research of the staff of the then Institute of Prehistory (now the Faculty of Archaeology) only. Several years ago both its purpose and the thematic and territorial scope changed. Each volume consists also of articles written by researchers from outside of the Adam Mickiewicz University – working in various archaeological institutions, including established scientists, museum professionals as well as young students of archaeology, both Polish and foreigners. The journal publishes research, theoretical and methodological articles, reviews, it also contains a chronicle. The journal is distributed to circa 150 scientific institutions throughout Europe as well as in the US and Canada.
Review Process

2. Reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and vice-versa (the double-blind review process).
3. Reviews must be provided on the Folia PP review form and must contain a clear conclusion of acceptance or rejection of an article for publication.
4. Positive reviews are the condition of the acceptance of the text for publication.
5. The list of reviewers is published in each volume.
Reviewers are selected according to the subject of submitted articles and represent Polish and foreign research centres.
