Abstract

The Authors presents the assumptions and the principles of the students’ opinion poll regarding the performance of teachers at medical academies. The result of the study may serve as the basis for activities targeting at the enhancement of the quality of training of the physicians. Conclusions regarding the quality of training, based on the opinions of the students of medical academies, involve, according to the Authors: 1) the definition of the features of teacher’s performance; 2) selection of the method of the study and construction of appropriate tool; 3) clarification of the assessment criteria; 4) explication of the data statistical and descriptive presentation. In their own studies, conducted at the Medical Academy of K. Marcinkowski in Poznań, the Authors accepted the following attributes, significant for the quality of teaching: 1) students’ awareness of the education process targets; 2) the level of the inter-discipline integration; 3) the curriculum organization; 4) the categorization of curriculum according to the problems; 5) the prevailing type of training activities; 6) the time utilization; 7) use of training materials; 8) the ability to train in practical operation; 9) the ability to train in clinical activities related to prophylactics, diagnosing and treatment of diseases; 10) the objective way of assessment of student performance; 11) stimulating students’ interest in the subject of training. Also, the Authors presents the method of the questionnaire construction and the principles of the statistical presentation of the results of the study.
