Abstract
This article examines selected results of a survey performed by Prof. Małgorzata Dąbrowa-Szefler carried out of The State Committee for Academic Research funds on the subject of “Teaching staff in Poland - today and tomorrow”. It focuses most of all on the academic activity of the graduate (doctorate) students and the significance of this activity when deciding to pursue a teaching career. It also attempts to determine in what way this activity is influenced by the organisations of doctors’ degree courses and the manner of academic cooperation between doctors and the academic community.
