Abstrakt
Artykuł ma na celu analizę egalitarnych scen oraz relacyjnego kulturowo-przestrzennego charakteru procesów kształtowania się wspólnot miejskich. W pierwszej części artykułu opisuję naturę determinizmu ekologicznego i redukcjonizmu kulturowego w badaniach nad społecznościami i wskazano na koncepcję sceny jako remedium na lukę między tymi dwoma podejściami. Omówiona została koncepcja sceny miejskiej oraz tworzonej przez nią struktury możliwości społeczno-kulturowych. W drugiej części artykułu, o charakterze empirycznym, odwołując się do materiału zebranego podczas badań pilotażowych w Berlinie oraz w badaniach właściwych zrealizowanych w Warszawie i Krakowie, dostarczono zarówno egzemplifikacji omówionych wcześniej relacyjnych procesów kształtowania się wspólnot w mieście, jak i opisano oraz wyjaśniono paradoks egalitaryzmu scen egalitarnych.
