Abstrakt
Adaptacyjne ponowne użycie obiektów historycznych stanowi jedno z ważnych współczesnych wyzwań gospodarki przestrzennej. Celem badania była weryfikacja, czy i w jakim wymiarze procesy adaptacyjne mogą skutecznie być realizowane przez organizacje pozarządowe. W tekście poddano analizie działanie takiego podmiotu, odpowiadając na pytanie, na ile jego ingerencja stała się szansą dla przetrwania trudnego zasobu dziedzictwa poprzemysłowego w sposób zachowujący jego substancję, wartości kulturowe oraz relacje z otaczającą przestrzenią i społecznością. Studium przypadku dotyczy Fundacji Ochrony Dziedzictwa Przemysłowego Śląska. Analizą objęto okres od roku 2004, w którym NGO przejęło pierwszy z obiektów historycznych.
