The european Silicon Valley of design. The role of design in the development of the creative sector and its impact on regional development on the example of North Brabant

Abstract

This article aims to explain the characteristics and development paths of North Brabant, during the transition from an economy based on industries to knowledge-based economy, using the highest industry technology and design. Attempts to identify the key moments of the transformation of the socio-economic development of the region and the consequences of its impact on changes in the economy. Reference is made to the historical foundations of economic success and the consequences introduced development strategy. Analyzed characteristics of this region and innovation indicators.
