The Academic Mazovia 2030 Foresight Project: An introduction

Abstract

This text introduces the papers which originated from the project entitled ‘Regional foresight for schools of higher education in Warsaw and Mazovia. Academic Mazovia 2030’ which have been included in this issue (contributions by Ewa Antoniak, Maria Romanowska, Stanisław Macioł, Elżbieta Moskalewicz-Ziółkowska and Elżbieta Drogosz- -Zabłocka with Barbara Minkiewicz). The author presents the main goal of the project (developing alternative scenarios for changes within the university model and education for knowledge-based economy, in the context of regional and national development until 2030; such efforts were expected to identify strategie areas for education in order to support knowledge-based economy in Warsaw and the Mazovia Province). Specific goals of the project and the research methods applied are also presented.
