Abstract

The Author discusses some problems concerning the use of credit system at the institutions of higher education. According to the Author, implementation of the credit system conditions the reform of the institutions of higher education. The system of credits improves the management of examinations, makes the examination system more transparent, enables comparisons of teaching results, creates conditions to develop self-sustainability and responsibility of students. Also, the system allows international comparisons of diplomas. The Author points out to the positive function of credits in establishing the system of continued education and in making the curricula more flexible and better adjusted to the market. This holds particularly true in the period of economic recession, high unemployment and social and economic transformation. He discusses prospects of the credit system use concerning inevitable changes in the system of training evaluation and in the educational process organization.
