Abstract

The authoress describes the development of strategic studies which have the aim of analysing the entry of young people to the labour market and the role of education in this process. The object of analysis are the methods of studying this problem used in selected West European countries. According to the article, the development of research on the professional initiation of young people is directly connected with the growing importance of the policy of the state in vocational education and employment. One may also narrow down the influence of integrative processes to the trend towards unification of methods in statistical studies of problems related to education and employment.
