Abstract
The article is about roadkill – the death of animals on the roads. In the context of literary and cultural studies, this problem is poorly present, despite the fact that road accidents involving animals, including wildlife – are the most common cause of their death in Europe, including Poland. The author introduces the concept of a discourse of care, which could become part of secondary school education in order to sensitize young people, future drivers, to the fate of animals condemned to live in an increasingly possessive human-made civilization.
