Marek Smolak is a professor in the Department of Theory and Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland. He concentrates his research on legal theory, legal argumentation, legal interpretation and constitutionalism. In 2020 he published with Wojciech Sadurski and Teresa Chirkowska-Smolak a book entitledRozum publiczny – uzasadnienie sądowe – umył sędziego [Public Reason – Judicial Justification – the Judge’s Mind]and is also the author of numerous articles and books particularly connected to the abovementioned fields. He is a member of The Committee on Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and many editorial boards of scientific journals. More information here

Ewa Małuszyńska, Professor of Economics, MSc of Geography, professor emeritus of the Poznań University of Economics and Business. She worked at the Department of Spatial and Environmental Economics before becoming the head of the Department of European Studies at PUEB. Her research interests, initially covering the issues of spatial management and regional development, direct foreign investments and the location of enterprises, have been extended to issues associated with the functioning of the European Union, in particular the cohesion policy. Her publications include the monographs Regionalne zróżnicowanie zmienności struktur gospodarczych [Regional differentiation of economic structure variability] and Migracje i delokalizacja przedsiębiorstw [Location and relocation of enterprises], as well as articles and book chapters in collective works. She is also the scientific editor and co-author of textbooks and monographs on the European Union. More information here

Monika Oliwa-Ciesielska holds a habilitation degree (dr hab.) and is a professor at Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznań. She heads the Department of Social Problems and Social Work Research at the Faculty of Sociology, AMU. Her research interests include the diagnosis of social problems, social exclusion, homelessness, the culture of poverty, social housing, social assistance, and social work. She is a member of a research group focused on the re-institutionalisation of social assistance in Poland. Her most important publications include: Piętno nieprzypisania. Studium o wyizolowaniu społecznym bezdomnych (recipient of the Polish Sociological Association’s Stanisław Ossowski Prize), W poszukiwaniu kultury ubóstwa (recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award), and Publiczna pomoc mieszkaniowa a demarginalizacja społeczna ludności ubogiej (co-authored; honoured with awards from the Rector of AMU and the Rector of the Poznań University of Economics and Business). She is actively engaged in community work supporting people living in poverty and experiencing homelessness; she serves as a member of the Council of the St. Padre Pio Aid Work (Dzieło Pomocy św. Ojca Pio) in Kraków. More information here
