Abstract
This article employs sociology of literature to examine vulnerability (Butler, 2006) and resilience in Andrea Abreu’s novel Dogs of Summer (2020). The bodies of adolescent protagonists are affected by neoliberal discourses and policies present in Tenerife. The theory of Rancière (2009, 2011) will be used to demonstrate that the novel not only problematizes vulnerability in the era of mass tourism, but also, through its literary devices, reconfigures the “distribution of the sensible”
