Abstract
The paper represents a continuation of previously conducted work and aims to explore the methodological aspects involved in developing a multilingual corpus of grammatical terminology. The languages included are Slovak, French, English, and Latin. The project’s aim is both terminological and concerned with establishing cross-linguistic equivalence, while also incorporating a lexicographic perspective. The main contribution of the project lies in its synchronic as well as diachronic approach, which traces terminological equivalence among the studied languages, rooted in the Latin origin of a large portion of the terms. The corpus development methodology rests on three pillars: the selection of up-to-date lexicographic resources, the multiparametric processing of lexical data within a shared file including all four languages, and the application of a single equivalence criterion, which is conceptual correspondence derived from the definitional features of each term. Situated within the metaterminographic perspective, the study represents an attempt to systematize grammatical terminology across four languages.
