Cel pracy stanowi analiza chrystologicznych podstaw nadziei powszechnego zbawienia w eschatologii Sergiusza Bułgakowa oraz ocena jej konsekwencji dla rozumienia wolności i odpowiedzialności moralnej osoby ludzkiej. Zastosowana metoda obejmuje hermeneutykę źródeł teologicznych (analizę pism Bułgakowa w autoryzowanych przekładach), egzegezę wybranych tekstów patrystycznych oraz analizę teologiczno-filologiczną kluczowych pojęć eschatologicznych, uzupełnioną komparatystyką teologiczną. Analiza prowadzona jest w perspektywie chrystologicznej i personalistycznej, z uwzględnieniem współczesnej debaty nad uniwersalizmem zbawczym. Wnioski wskazują, że nadzieja powszechnego zbawienia nie ma u Bułgakowa charakteru doktryny konieczności ani deterministycznego uniwersalizmu, lecz pozostaje nadzieją teologiczną, zakorzenioną w kenotycznej miłości Chrystusa. Eschatologia ta nie znosi odpowiedzialności moralnej, lecz ją pogłębia, ukazując czyn moralny jako eschatologiczną odpowiedź wolności na miłość objawioną w Chrystusie.
