Interdisciplinary Studies in Musicology is an English-language annual and has been published since 1993. The scientific profile of this journal covers topics related to any scientific reflection that uses the achievements of many scientific disciplines to understand the phenomenon of music, both those that represent one field of science (e.g. the field of humanities) and belonging to different fields (e.g. the field of natural sciences and humanities). The orientation of the journal around broadly understood interdisciplinary research in music refers to Guido Adler's idea of cooperation between musicology and the so-called auxiliary disciplines. The journal publishes both theoretical papers and articles based on empirical research.
