Abstract

The leading theme of the paper is the description of the basics of the cost-benefit analysis (on the example of higher education). Also, it presents the theoretical achievements of the economy of education and of the theory or human Capital, concerning the measurement of the economic efficacy of education cost. The theory of human capital caused racial transformation in the area of theoretical considerations regarding the significance of education viewed as a form of consumption or investment. In addition, it had practical implications on the plane of individual educational and vocational choices (that is, educational demand) and on the plane of the educational policy of the state. The latest area of the cost-benefit analysis application is illustrated by the review of the empirical data documenting the income or/and payment level of managerial and economy academies graduates against total higher education institutions’ graduates (broken by type of institution) and employees of lower education level.
