Abstrakt
W świecie akademickim coraz częściej mówi się o konieczności większego - systematycznego i zorganizowanego - umiędzynarodowienia działalności uniwersytetów. Umiędzynarodowienie przestało być sprawą jedynie poszczególnych uczonych i studentów, stało się przedmiotem polityki. Jakie są tego powody i w czym się przejawia owa internacjonalizacja? Źródeł tego zjawiska należy poszukiwać w rosnącej globalizacji gospodarczej i integracji międzynarodowej. Autorka zajmuje się bliżej tym problemem, koncentrując uwagę na umiędzynarodowieniu kształcenia, a pozostawiając na uboczu międzynarodowe aspekty działalności badawczej. Przedstawia sposób rozumienia pojęcia „internacjonalizacja” oraz terminów pokrewnych - „globalizacja” i „europeizacja” . Opisuje wyznaczniki, ograniczenia, bariery i szanse rozwoju umiędzynarodowienia. Omawia również różne ponadnarodowe programy rozwoju umiędzynarodowienia szkolnictwa wyższego, a także rolę Deklaracji Bolońskiej oraz realizację jej postanowień w państwach Europy Zachodniej i w Polsce.
