Abstract
Reducing food waste is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Poland is one of the few EU Member States that have adopted specific regulations on reducing food waste. The Act on Counteracting Food Waste, which is the result of many years of legislative work, entered into force on 18 September 2019. This regulation is not effective and raises many concerns. Therefore, legislative work has been undertaken to amend the Act. This paper aims to assess the proposed amendment to the Act on Counteracting Food Waste of 3 October 2024, which seems to address some of the doubts raised so far but is likely to raise new ones.
