About the Journal

Aims and Scope

The mission of the journal is to draw attention to the environmental contexts of educational processes and to focus on the analysis of conditions, which enable the satisfaction of the development needs of individuals and social groups in all phases of social age and various environments and life situations (study, work, leisure time, family, school, peer and social group, place of residence, social and cultural activities, etc.).
Contemporary discourse on these issues is both timely and essential in light of the dynamic transformations affecting all spheres of human life and the growing need to foster meaningful communities founded on responsibility, solidarity, and care for others. Such a commitment encompasses concern for the well-being of individuals, the quality of life, and the overall condition of contemporary societies.
Accordingly, one of the primary aims of Pedagogika Społeczna Nova is to provide an international forum for the exchange of theoretical perspectives, empirical research findings, and practical solutions within the broad field of social pedagogy. The journal also seeks to promote scholarly discussion of emerging challenges and social risks that continue to expand the scope of social pedagogy as a discipline.

Peer Review Process

Each manuscript is evaluated by two independent reviewers. As part of the review process, the reviewers prepare an assessment of the manuscript and provide the Editor(s) with a clear recommendation to accept the manuscript, reject it, or request revisions. The final editorial decision is made by the Editor(s) based on the reviewers' recommendations.
The external peer review process may involve one or more rounds of review. Additional rounds of review, typically conducted by the same reviewers, are required when a manuscript requires substantial revisions. In certain cases, the Editor(s) may appoint one or more additional reviewers during subsequent rounds of the review process.
Initial Editorial Screening – Grounds for Rejection
A manuscript may be rejected at the initial editorial screening stage if:
• it has been previously published or is under consideration for publication by another journal;
• it does not comply with the journal's Instructions for Authors, including requirements regarding manuscript preparation (e.g., length, references, or bibliography);
• its subject matter falls outside the aims and scope of the journal;
• it does not meet the standards of scholarly quality expected for publication;
• it fails the plagiarism screening conducted using the iThenticate software;
• it receives two negative peer review reports, each containing a clear recommendation that the manuscript should be rejected.
