Abstract

The article draws attention to the socio-political context of the struggle for the right to life of unborn children from an American perspective. The aim of the article is to present the socio-pastoral activities of Father Richard J. Neuhaus, a neoconservative, long-time editor-in-chief of the “First Things” magazine, who was a close unofficial advisor to President George W. Bush on activities to promote the Culture of Life. Using the document research method, the materials compiled in the New York archive of the journal “First Things” were analyzed, while the analytical-synthetic method was used to present articles and commentaries published on this subject in the mentioned periodical.
