Author Guidelines

General information

The Board of Editors of the Journal Studia Germanica Posnaniensia accepts articles written in German, English and Polish, in formats *.doc./*.docx and *.pdf. We accept only original and unpublished texts, written in compliance with the principles of scientific integrity.

The Authors are responsible for obtaining and sending to the Board of Editor permission to reproduce copyrighted figures included in their text.

The Author will be informed by e-mail about the approval of the article for publication.

The Author is obliged to respond in writing to the remarks included in the reviews and to make corresponding corrections within the timeframe set by the Board of Editors. Failure to revise the text means that the Author agrees to the publication of the text in the version sent for review.

Submission of the text for publication means that the Author agrees to its publication without receiving a royalty in exchange for receiving a copy of the publication.

By submitting a text, the Author consents to the inclusion of the text itself, along with abstracts and keywords, as well as basic personal data (name, affiliation, e-mail address, and ORCID number) in all electronic databases with which the Publisher cooperates.

Please apply the following guidelines consistently when preparing your text for publication.

Guidelines for preparing texts for publication

1. Basic requirements

An article of 25,000-40,000 characters (including spaces) should be submitted in electronic format as a *.doc./*.docx or *pdf file.

2. Requirement of checking DOI digital identifiers

Since the Journal is published as an Open Access resource, the Bord of Editors are obliged to check the DOI numbers of the bibliography cited in the texts (footnotes, bibliographies) and to include this number in the bibliographic description of the cited publication. Please check the availability of works cited in Open Access and enter the DOI number. DOI numbers are best checked on the websites of the relevant publishers and editors, or alternatively on CrossRef: http://www.crossref.org/guestquery.

Streszczenia / Abstracts / Abstracts

Tekst bieżący poprzedzony jest streszczeniami oraz 5 słowami kluczowymi w językach niemieckim i angielskim (tytuł tekstu także należy podać w języku angielskim). Streszczenie zawiera tezę/tezy artykułu, prezentację metodologii oraz wyniki badań.

Dem Text sind Abstracts sowie 5 Schlüsselwörter in deutscher und englischer Sprache voranzustellen (der Titel wird auch ins Englische übersetzt). Der Abstract präsentiert die These/n des Beitrags, die Methodologie sowie die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung.

A continuous text is preceded by an abstract and 5 keywords in German and English (the title of the text should also be given in English). The abstract contains the proposition(s) of the article, the presentation of the methodology and study outcomes.

Zitate im Text  / Quotations within the text 

• Zitate im laufenden Text stehen in doppelten Anführungszeichen
• Längere Zitate (üblicherweise drei und mehr Textzeilen) bitte durch eine Leerzeile vor und nach dem Zitat vom Haupttext trennen, in Times New Roman 10-Punkt-Schrift eingerückt setzen. Die Anführungszeichen entfallen dann
• Anmerkungen, Zusätze des Autors/Verfassers der Arbeit werden im Zitat in eckige Klammern gesetzt und mit Namenskürzel versehen
• Auslassungen im Zitat werden durch […] gekennzeichnet
• Im APA-Style werden Quellenverweise direkt im Text angegeben. Das Zitieren bzw. der Verweis auf eine Quelle erfolgt durch die Angabe des Autors, des Erscheinungsjahres und ggf. der Seite. Bei mehreren Werken eines Autors aus demselben Jahr wird durch Angabe von a, b, c… differenziert.

- Quotations in the running text are in double inverted commas.

- Longer quotations (usually three or more lines of text) should be separated from the main text by a blank line before and after the quotation, indented in Times New Roman 10-point font. The inverted commas are then omitted.

- Notes, additions by the author of the text are placed in square brackets in the quotation and abbreviated with the author's name.

- Omissions in the citation are marked by [...].

- In APA stylesheet, source references are indicated directly in the text. The citation or reference to a source is made by indicating the author, the year of publication and, if applicable, the page. In the case of several works by the same author from the same year, differentiation is made by specifying a, b, c....

In anderen Fällen sind es abstrakte Figuren, die sich vor allem durch ihr Außenseitertum auszeichnen, hier exemplarisch, der „Rechte“, der „Reaktionär“, der „Außenseiter-Heros“, der „Dichter“, der „mutige Einsiedler“, der „Nicht-Einverstandene“, der „Einzelgänger“ (Denka, 2013, S. 292-294).

László Végel (2008) geht in seinem ironischen, die Grenzen des Schablonendenkens bewusst ausreizenden ,West-Checkʽ der mitteleuropäischen Seele eindringlich auf die in der westeuropäischen Optik des Ostens omnipotenten Klischees ein:

Der mittelosteuropäische Mensch wäre gern anderswo auf die Welt gekommen, so tröstet er sich mit dem nostalgischen Gedanken an Europa. Weil er kein Westeuropäer ist, verflucht er sein Schicksal. Er leidet an ewigem Minderwertigkeitskomplex, sein tiefer Wunsch, nicht hier zu sein, hindert ihn, seinen Nachbarn kennen zu lernen. Beide Eigenschaften – sowohl der lange Fortbestand als auch die Möglichkeit jederzeitiger Reaktivierung – wirken dann umso nachhaltiger, wenn sich das jeweilige, oft bis hin zum Gegenstand einer bloßen Taxonomie abgewertete Objekt der jeweiligen Stereotypisierung mehrere „Jahrhunderte lang auf der Respekt-Despekt-Skala notorisch am Ende der Skala befindet“ (Orłowski 2005, S. 17-18).

4. The following documents should be appended to the article

1. The Author’s declaration concerning the sources of funding the research presented in the article or a draft of an article (if the research was financed by an institution other than the one to which the author is affiliated or on their private money).
