Scope and coverage of the scholar journal
“Images. The International Journal of European Film, Performing Arts and Audiovisual Communication” aims to publish and disseminate research on audiovisual culture in its broadest sense. Among the issues addressed in the journal are reflections on film, television and new media (including video games), performing arts, theater and photography – their interaction with each other and functioning in social reality. In “Images” you can find texts submitted by both Polish and foreign researchers. The editorial team accepts texts in Polish and English. Each issue of the journal is published simultaneously in open access on the PRESSto platform and in print.
Anti-plagiarism policy
To ensure the originality and high quality of published articles, the journal applies the latest procedures for evaluating them, and uses the Crossref Similarity Check anti-plagiarism system using iThenticate software. The system makes it possible to identify similarities in a text by comparing it with publications available on the Internet and indexed databases, and identifying the sources of passages. Works in which borrowings from other authors are found inappropriately cited or plagiarized will be rejected by the editors, and violations of either copyright or good scientific practice will be reported to the management of the author's employing institution. If plagiarism is found in a published paper, the Editorial Board will withdraw the text and post a notice to this effect on the journal's website and/or in the printed version.
Open access policy and funding
The journal provides immediate, open and free access to all its content in line with the idea of free access to research which enhances and accelerates global scholarly development and knowledge exchange. The Editors do not charge the authors with any article submission fees, nor do they offer financial gratification for the acceptance of material for publication and its subsequent publication. The journal’s activities are financed from the funds of the Dean of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University (Adam Mickiewicz University, Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology), and recently also from de minimis aid under the “Development of Scientific Journals” program (application registration number: RCN/SP/0061/2021/1).
